Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers have joined us because of their interest in fostering genuine, supportive relationships with community members confronting the challenges of poverty and mental illness.
Volunteer as a Companion
Volunteer Companions support and empower others through forming genuine relationships that promote positive connections to the greater community. From meeting with participants one-on-one to hosting gatherings at the residential properties, volunteers offer the gifts of time and presence to residents. Learn more about companionship here!
We warmly encourage individuals from all walks of life, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+, Black or People of Color, or individuals with lived experiences of homelessness, mental illness, or low-income backgrounds, to apply. PHC values diversity and believes that people from varied backgrounds bring invaluable perspectives to the work we do. Your unique experiences and perspectives will help strengthen the community we’re building together.
We are currently accepting new companion volunteers for our June 2025 Training! Applications are due by May 31st and spaces fill up quickly.
